OK...so redskins.com has announced that we were awarded a compensatory draft pick, and we now have 5 instead of 4. SO...who do we take at 13?? Do we trade down for more picks??

Personally, I think o-line is still the area of most concern, and we need young offensive tackles to protect J-CAM. However, I also like the idea of getting a DE like Orakpo who can help our pass rush on the d-line. While both lines need the most attention, I'm not too sold now on LB at #13. There are lots of options in the draft, but with 5 picks we may want to use the later rounds for LB and other needy spots such as WR. The reason I say WR is so we can help J-CAM get more throwing options and establish a good young receiving core along with Thomas and Kelly at training camp. Anyway, thoughts??

Hiya Alex,   Now that it seems we are going to resign Philip Daniels and play DE by committee then I think we wont be getting a DE at #13  Orakpo would be nice at #13 but I think he will be off the board by then, If he isnt and both Smith's and Monroe have gone then we HAVE to pick him lol

Im not sold on Andre Smith and I do think that both Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe will be off the board when we pick so LB could be the more likely position to get filled with our #13 pick.

Brian Cushing keeps popping up on Mock Drafts as our pick at #13 and I wouldnt be dissapointed if we took him, he would be a good compliment to our D and would bring more Rush threat along with Big Albert and Co collapsing the pocket, the thought of that warms me with Glee!  Grin

Theres concerns about Injury worries with Brian cushing but i think under the right Coaches these concerns could be dispelled.  Its reported that Cushing spends $1,000 a month on nutritional supplements, is this an issue?  Im sure theres Guys out there using far worse things to enhance their fisique.  We could go in many different ways at #13 even trade down for more picks but picking Brian Cushing wouldnt be the worse thing to happen.  Getting Orakpo or Cushing would just give so much more to the opposing team to think about.
I found this in a Mock Draft article about Brian Cushing, "As a pass rusher, Cushing is an effective blitzer from LB, closes quickly and looks to destroy the QB."  I love it!!!  Grin   Grin Im getting excited now so I will have to stop.

Maybe next year is for the Oline upgrade and we make do with what we have and use our lower picks on O line Men?

it seems that at 13 all of the guys that we really want are going to be off the board.  So why not just pick the the top guy on the board?  I think that they are going to try to move up!!!

Don't forget there's Michael Oher. Mel Kiper on ESPN has us taking him. I actually wouldn't be TOO surprised if we tried to draft a kicker or punter. After taking Brooks in 2008 (even though he was a bust), I could see it happening with that extra pick.

It only takes one team to trade down and all the Draft charts can be thrown out of the window lol

Its all smoke and mirrors as we approach Draft Day, Everyone is trying to keep their cards close to their chest as regards where they are going to go with their picks so anything could happen.

I agree that the players we most want will be gone ( thats not rocket science lol) so we will only really know when the Washington Redskins are on the Clock which way we will roll.

It will only get worse with speculation the closer to Draft Day we get!
