I'm glad that Vinny was able to man up and admit his mistake and cut JT lose. JT was not ever going to fit in Blache's system.

Plus we needed the cap room and now we can sign a couple of guys to add depth.

That being said if we can get Orakpo or someone with his talent in the draft then we will be younger.

It would have been nice if Vinny had realized that BEFORE he made the trade!   Angry

I'm sure at the time they were thinking that this was a good move. Taylor had not missed very many games in his career in Miami.

But as luck would have it he got hurt for us and did not have a good season.

But if he had not gotten hurt who knows? Things could have been very different. We would have probably made the playoffs.

We will never know now.

Yeah if he had come in, stayed healthy and made a bunch of sacks then he would probably still be a Redskin.

I totaly agree NC

If JT wasnt hit by injuries then we would have got some value out of the Trade, Hindsight is a wonderful thing but psychic powers we havent got yet so we took the gamble, rolled the dice and we lost on that one.

As I can see it we are cutting our losses after JT let it be known he didnt want to commit fully to pre season, maybe a calculative ploy on his part to get his release from the Skins?

You're exactly right with your comment at the bottom, UK. I heard he wanted to be a redskin, but I also heard that he didn't want to work out and partake in offseason activities. With that attitude and the numbers he put up in 2008, I'm glad he's gone. Now, if he HADN'T gotten hurt, he may have been better. I also think this leaves us without some DE depth...it may be possible to get Orakpo or a DE at #13 but does anyone think he'll be gone by then? If he is, we need to stick to OL and LB. Some people are saying we need an RB but that's BS in my opinion.

I don't call that "luck."  The FO didn't even talk to the coaches about acquiring him in the first place.  They just did it without even consulting Blache, who didn't even want him because he knew he wouldn't fit.  That's why the Jason Taylor Experiment failed.

I don't much care for someone who says one thing and does another. He had said at the close of the season he didn't think he had earned his salary this year. He didn't seem to care to show he was worth it by committing to pre-season workouts. It was a failed gamble....better to cut our losses now and look ahead, imho.

I agree 100%

Im sure at the moment he has more than one eye on his post NFL Career....  Shame because when he is unable to play he may just regret not givving his all to the end and seeing just where it could have taken him.

Another year with the Skins would have given JT a chance to perform and post monster stats, injuries permitting, imho We will never know now, heres to the Future without JT!

I am just mad that we also lost the picks that we gave up for him
