Peter King of SI reports that Redskins owner Dan Snyder had dinner with the agent for Albert Haynesworth.

This is exciting news to me. I would love for the Redskins to get this guy. He is an awesome player who I think could really help us out.

The Redskins got no pressure on the QB last season. That's got to change.

He may cost a lot of money but so will the first round draft pick.

We know what Haynesworth can do. Many times draft picks are busts.

What do you all think?

It doesnt really matter what we think its what Danny & vinny think!    Huh

It would be additional moneys to pay Albert when we are in deep with the Cap already.  Yes a Draft pick will cost us but weve got to take someone at #13 (or trade down)

Im with you 100% on Pressurising the QB or lack of it.....  But I think we could do that without getting Albert.

Albert Haynesworth may be the right player at the wrong time.

If money wasnt an object then yeh get him

Like I said its what the FO think.

Unfortunately, UK is right. What Danny and Vinny say goes. However, even though Haynesworth has done well at his spot in Tennessee, who's to say he'll fit in with us? Also, he does have injury issues. Finally, as UK pointed out, he'd be expensive and potentially costly in terms of picks. Keep in mind though, we have freed up some cap space in releasing Washington and could free up some more in releasing guys who are getting older and who are injury-prone.

He had a great season last year. But I think that we need to pass on him. We have a bad history with over priced FA's. Let’s hope for a draft pick.

Seeing as how we are more than one player away from the next level I agree that we need to pass on him.  Keep the cap money for draft picks and the future.

You guys are making good points but would love to see this guy line up at Fed Ex this season. He is a beast.

He's also known for taking plays off and being a bit of a trouble-maker.  Something tells me that if we throw tons of money at him, he'll relax and not give it his all (see:  Stubblefield, Dana).

It is looking like we may get him. I think this is an awesome move by the FO.

IMO this will make it possible for London Fletcher to go off as a result of Haynesworth being up front.

I also think that this will help J. Taylor as well as the rest of the Defense look a lot better.

This is a big move that I really think will take our team to the next level.

This is a HORRIBLE move by the FO.  The money that we're tying up in this one man could be better spent on multiple positions.  This is why the Redskins are mediocre now.  We spend gobs of money on big-named superstars and ignore depth.  Thus, when we suffer injuries, there's no one halfway decent to replace that player.  This is an irresponsible move and like all the others the FO has made over the years, it will come back to bite us.

I am torn between this on one hand he is what we need and is still very young at 26 years old.  On the other hand there is that part of it of when he gets paid, is he going to take the money and run.  One thing that we know is that he hates the Cowboys!!!  Ask the cowboy he stepped on.    IMO it is a good pickup if he does not break the bank to much I would probaly pay him 8-10 million a year and give him alot of incentives to keep him rolling the way he had been playing the last two years.  He is constantly going to get double team up the middle freeing up Fletcher and keeping the ends on one and one matchups.  Man I really think this would be good if he continues at the rate he is know but who knows.

WOW!!!!!! I With Colt Brennan fan but I wish we wouldn't spend so much money I mean w could have gotten a few pieces to the puzzle and if this guy get's hurt than what. cause you know every big name we sign get's hurt IN OTA's or Training camp. To go with CB fan He is going to bring the PRESSURE and add that help on we need. He will make Andre carter look that much better and the other guys also

If this is true i'm not sold but I sure hope it works out for Our Teams sake. DAM UP DAN AND VINNY Smiley

We def need to spread resources out better than with just one player.  Yes the cap may end soon but it has not yet. Big expensive signings have not helped a team in any pro sport.

I agree that if we signed him and he got hurt that things would go downhill fast. We need to build depth and focus on the future. I don't think getting Haynesworth will help us do that.
