New guy on the OL

Just listening on the NFL radio the other day that the Jags are not going to bring back their Left Tackle Khalif Barnes. Was looking at his profile and he is 26 and a four year starter and never missed a game. He is 6'5" and 325 lbs this is a player that I would go after to replace Jansen somebody with experience and not going to break the bank!!!!!!! He is still pretty young and can contribute right away and we know that he can play at the NFL level.

good spot _ty
Just read up on him from the Jags page and he seems a good option to come in and contribute from day one. This type of acquisition is what Id like the FO of the Skins to be doing, solid reliable workman like performer that wont break the Bank.
Good Spot.

If we could grab this guy and if he could help out from day 1, I'd be happy. Something tells me though that the FO will pass him up and that he'll end up somewhere else. Also, the Jags offensive line was terrible last year (given that it wasn't Barnes' fault specifically), so I hope that won't make his market value low.

He sounds solid. Why are the Jags letting him go?

This from a Jags Forum,
"Khalif will have no problem finding a team. LT's, especially those with his skills are at a premium. He is a young LT with his best games ahead of him. Good footwork and a nasty streak that is necessary to play the hardest position on the D.
Why are we allowing him to leave?
Why are we allowing Reggie to leave?"
Seems most think like this on the Forum and dont want him to go.
and this from another,
"Barnes’ ability on the field is unquestioned. He has been a stalwart left tackle during his entire tenure with the team and is known for his ferocious and physical playing style. His mauler mentality goes beyond what’s normally expected for a left tackle, which further compliments the Jags grinding style of offense."
I get the feeling that the Jags fans dont want him to go, I think we should get him or someone like him, age & ability wise, to strenghten our O line.
