I'v read where we may or think we should trade Springs, Rogers and/or Betts.
Which player do you think will get us the best deal?
IMO, neither would get us more than a third round draft choice...Rogers will probably get us a 3rd, Betts a 4th and Springs nothing.
Who do you guys think will get us the better trade value?

I think Rogers will get us the best deal. I am hopeful he would be worth a 2nd rounder: after all, he was the 9th pick in the draft.
Spring gets us nothing and Betts gets us nothing or 6th or 7th. He just hasn't shown he can run, aside from the one season when he had to start. Maybe he got a raw deal this season, being hurt and forcing use to get Alexander, I don't know.

One year is not going to get it on a bargaining table but at least a 5th, I'd hope. He did have that productive season and he is not that old.

What CT said. Trading Springs would be a bad idea because of the cap hit and we wouldn't get much. Betts isn't worth much at 30. RB's are just too easy to find in the offseason. Los would get us a 2nd at best and we would have to replace him if we trade him so it just doesn't seem worth it. If anything extend him to keep him happy.

I really can not see a second for 'Los, Zap..Teams know his weakness now and I do not think that they will give up much for him. A 3rd is pretty good for what he has done so far in the NFL.

if anyone it would be Rogers but by trading him would we get anything in return? Probaly not!!!!! No pro bowl year already had a major surgery on his knee. Does not hold on to the ball when he is in position and his not really a playmaker. Suitable takers would probaly be Dallas in which they are indire need for secondary help!!!!!!!!!! But to you really want to see him twice a year and if he goes to Dallas probaly turns out to be an all pro in year one.

I am starting to think that sooner or later, hopefully sooner, we are going to have to make some significant moves with some significant players. As fans, I think that we get use to names and favorites players but I am coming to believe that this team together with a add of a bit here and piece there will stay a mid-level team as long as we keep making small moves.
Moving and shaking might mean that we may have to accept losing for a season or two but I would rather the FO work on building a strong franchise that can compete for years than to keep taking steps that barely keeps us above ground.
We are looking at players like Samuels, Moss, Carter and Portis careers getting pretty aged in football years without seeing any real progress from the team. Once players like these guys start to decline in performance, where is that going to leave us?....IMO, the team is going to have to make some moves that may not be popular with the fans but will help the team make a move towards the top level.

This is a very interesting article found by MWCRedskin and posted in the news and rumors section... http://redskinshogheaven.com/2009/01/trade-rumors-only.htmlFrom the article it seems as though Rogers is safe because it would cost too much to get rid of him. It also suggests that we may try to trade Moss for a second rounder, which I do not think is likely. But the ones that I would jump all over is Golston for a third and/or Betts for a fourth or fifth.

I just read this article, Mike. After reading it and answering the poll I actually think Betts would be a likely trade. Even if we get late round picks, that's good. Personally, aside from his breakout year in 2006, Betts hasn't shown the caliber and abilities Portis has and he can't hang on to the ball to save his life. All this said, I believe he would be the best trade IMO. I can't see us getting anything for Springs, and we should keep Rogers who is good in coverage. Moss is a possibility, but I could see us keeping him. ARE might be more likely to go than Moss. And just to throw it out there, I wouldn't be TOO surprised to see Portis go. After the little clash with Zorn over the radio and such, I can see it happening. In any case, I agree with you Mike that some unpopular moves could be made soon. The team's future could depend on them.

I agree Alex, Betts may be the most likely to be traded but how do we replace him, FA or the draft?... I think that with the play of Williams and Stewart in Carolina and Earth, Wind and Fire (Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw) with the Giants, teams are going to start looking for that multi-back attack.
I hope that if we do go in this direction that CP do not get to pouting and understand that "conserving" him is best for himself and the team.

Although I don't want to see Rogers leave, he would give us the best deal.

Keep in mind though that while Los has been good in coverage, he can't make an INT to save his life!
