being that we are probaly going to release Marcus Washington!  What linebackers do you think that we should pursue?  I was thinking about Bart Scott from the Ravens would be a solid pick.  Looking at his stats it shows that he is a inside linebacker I thought they ran the 4-3 in Baltimore!

T-Y, I really hope that we use our 13th pick on a linebacker...there should be some very good ones when we pick.

This years Draft will show an abundance of good Linebackers, so we should be able to pick up a good one in the Draft.  Maybe with a later pick and take someone on either O or D line first pick.....

A WR??   Huh

I just think our existing WR core will step upto the plate this next coming season.  Id rather stick with what weve got at WR at the moment and strengthen both O & D lines

Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly will have a full year under their belts learning the system and timing etc and they will have to, baring injuries,  show their worth, with their help Santana Moss will imo have a far better season and Antwaan Randle El can do his stuff without having to be relied on, on too many downs.

A WR would be nice but only if we see to our O & D lines 1st......

I think Thomas is going to develop into a star sometime during next season. We still need another WR. Thrash did nothing, Kelly did nothing, and Moss proved again he is a playmaker but not a #1. We need someone that can line up across from Moss and go deep. Randle El is a solid player but should only be used in the slot. We need an outside guy like Devery Henderson (FA) from the Saints. Our offense was pathetic and painfull to watch this year. Any defense can shut us down by putting 8 in the box and a saftey over Moss.

Obviously the lines need to be addressed but you could argue that WR is the weakest postion on the team.

BTW when Moss pulled that towel out of his pants I would have been fine if he was cut the next week. Unreliable, JC clearly doesn't trust him.

I think that we will be able to get a good O-lineman with a third round and beyond   pick but not really a good LB, if a Curry or a Laurinaitis  is there when we pick (and I think one or both will be), I think that they will impact our team more.

I agree about a DT if one is there like the guy out of Boston College but I hope that we address the O-line's immediate need  before the draft and use the little that we have to draft with for depth on the O-line AFTER we pick an impact player with our 1st pick. I wouldn't expect too much with the resources that we have to work with but I do hope that we get the best value out of the little bit that we do have.

Of course if a Oher , who will probably start in his first year, is there we should jump on it but I doubt that he falls to 13.

Bzapf,  Good points there about our WR  core,  I agree but just think this coming season they will play a lot better, barring injuries,  and with more protection from the rush on our O line maybe our WR's will find it easier to get open more and JC can do the business.

Maybe a WR picked up from FA would be a good move but we have to get someone who will fit the bill financially and also be able to improve our existing WR core.

Its all about Priority, and in an ideal world the best scinario would be to strengthen the O line and D line as well as picking up a WR and dont forget linebacker, Kicker and Punter......  Thing is we arent flush with picks in the Draft and we are going to have to be prudent with our FA targets.

Its all a juggling act with FA and the Draft......

If we can get the right player in to strengthen our O line by FA then that opens it up for us to use the Draft to look at other positions....

Like you said Other wont be around when we get to pick so we will have to see and then make the decision.  It all depends what we do through FA  this off season.

We cant complain about bad decisions made in the past that now come to haunt us conserning Salary Cap and lack of Draft picks.  We just have to get on with it and make the best of things.

I think we draft line play on our picks meaning either offensive and defensive side of the ball.  Lord knows we need both so take the best available and take someone that fits our style.   Maybe go after a receiver in FA.  What do you think we need in a receiver?  I think we need a possesion type receiver that can go across the middle I was thinking of TJ from the Bengals.  But probaly to much

-As far as a WR goes, we definitely need help there but I do not think that we need help as far as going after a big money player. I just hope that we could get a reliable vet that can give Kelly and Thomas some time to develop while helping out our passing game. ARE is not a good receiver.... slot or otherwise.... he just isn't a very good receiver and IMO his play should be minimized as much as possible.
