Seems like after every loss and/or disappointing performances, I read statements like, 'at least we have a winning record', 'I did not think that we would be (insert record) at this point of the season', 'who'da thunk this'?, who,da thunk that'?

Well Ida thunk as I predicted here on T-Y's thread....http://forum.redskinsheads.com/index.php/topic,571.0.html .Where I predicted us to go 11-5 this season.

In fact, I was thinking the offense would perform better than they have performed. The game yesterday was set up by the Rams performance, the Browns performance and the Lions performance. We were going up and down the field running the hell out of Portis and coming away praying that Suisham hits the field goal at the end.

I stated a few weeks ago that if we do not get going offensively that it was going to come back and bite us in the ass when we meet a good team and last night game was the ass biter. Are we in trouble?...No, I do not think so...Can we be without adjusting some things in the passing game?...Of course we can...NO SUGAR COAT ABOUT IT!!

Santana is a great receiver but he is small and the season is liable to wear on him as it gets longer and ARE is not really a good complement to him but he is servicable. BUT Thrash and Thomas is pretty much non-existent and it is hurting us once we have a small field to work when our bigger receivers are not contributing. If Kelly is not going to be ready we should've just place him on IR and picked up someone....I do not know why we are not using fred Davis!!

If we can remember, we had the same problems last season and Gibbs went out and got Reche Caldwell and Kenan McArdell to complement, Moss and ARE and the passing game opened up.These are the type of moves that made Gibbs one of the greatest finishers ever and the ones that we are going to have to make in order to continue to improve this season.

I think that we are too good of a team to be settling for the "at leasts" and without the tweaks our season is gonna end up much shorter than it would with the adjustments.

I totally agree with you on what you said.  Adjustments do need to be made during the bye week.  They have plenty of time between now and the Sunday Night game in less than 2 weeks.  Ass biter is definitely right.  It was a major asswhipping on all sides of the ball.  If there was one side of the ball that showed a little bit of effort, it was the defense.  They definitely perform some pass rushes when they were out in the field.  With a bye this coming week, we should be playing better against Dallas.  I don't think Dallas will give us an asswhipping like the Steelers.  Pittsburgh is a helluva lot better than Dallas.  If we can a whole lot better than the Steelers game throughout the rest of the season, we could probably be 11-5 or even better by the end of the season.  It seems possible, but it all depends on them.  It may be sting when we lose and have disappointing performance, but I think about the next game.  When watching a Redskins game, I will watch it till the very end, win, lose, or draw.  You could be right about 11-5.  It's possible.

Totaly agree Mike, at start of season I said our biggest weakness was red zone scoring. We lost on Monday because from three trips close to their line we scored 6 points. Turn that into 17 points and this game would have been there for the winning.

Our D showed up big style but our O was stuttering at best.

Drum, I do not understand why Zorn is upset after each and every stalled drive but we do absolutely nothing about improving anything once we get down there.

Lorenzo Alexander is definitely not the answer!!

In 2005 Mike Sellers scored 7 TD's with only 12 receptions, I know that he was a TE then but it is not like he can't get out the backfield for receptions.... If he can produce while lined up as a TE, I think that he could do it coming out of the backfield.... More than likely opponents are going to look for him to block so they can easily get caught off guard if he slide/push off that block and make himself available for a reception. If we are going to use what we have and not get anyone else, we may as well try to mix things up.

I agree with you all...Adjustments have got to be made...Get more guys involved on offense...With the NFC EAST games coming up...FGs are not gonna get it done!

Of course not Bex!!... I think that we will make the playoffs because we have played pretty well but now is the time to prepare for the latter season runs and possible playoff games !!

When we get there we are not going to be facing the Rams and the Lions...the cream has basically been seperated from the crop and our needs to get to to the top of the NFC should be known by now.

We have the talent and our guys have worked hard but these things has to be met with EXECUTION and we are not executing in the red-zone...we gotta make some changes to turn the "3's" into 7's"...WE GOTTA GET READY FOR A RUN!!

Mike I agree Sellars is totaly under used, give him the ball on short yardage at let the opposition try to stop him.

I would also like to see Devin Thomas on the field as punt returner, if for nothing else than to see what he can do ball in hand we simply have no idea at present.

Another good post, Mike...and you bring up a lot of big question marks that are affecting us, such as using Sellers and our draft picks. They aren't being used enough and it's hurting the passing game AND redzone scoring. I personally don't know why we're not using Cooley in the redzone...THAT'S unacceptable because redzone is his specialty IMO. The adjustments we need to make after this game are better o-line blocking (HEYER instead of Jansen), and more consistent execution of the offense. Although the defense did do well and got pressure on the QB, we need more turnovers and better play by our secondary. I'm hoping we can turn things around and beat Dallas next week, but Romo will be back and we'll have to see. A LOT needs to change if we're gonna continue to have a good season.

First thing that I want to get out of my chest is that was an ugly game! Our offensive line needs to find a way to get there heads out of their asses. How the hell is JC gonna make it through the next 8 games if he is gonna be laying flat on his back! We all know the golden rule in football is Protect the quarterback! So hopefully they worked their asses off!

Another thing I hoped we worked on was JC not holding on to the damn ball for so long.I saw him out of the pocket and still take the damn sack. Hell throw it to the waterboy. Please don't baby the ball.I am probably gonna get called out on this one but hell whats a forum without disagreements! I like JC as our QB but I love the JC who arms it out to Santana Moss.I hope he lets it fly against the Boys because we all know Moss is a Cowboy Killa.

Thanks Rob!! ...and you're right we are going to have to find a way to tighten up on the O-line especially against aggressive teams like the Steelers and the Giants or the outcomes are going to be much the same as last weeks and the first game of the season.

Samuels had a aweful game but I think that his injury may have been a contributor along with the Steelers dominance ( I will not take anything away from them) and like you suggested, JC's tendencies to hold on to the ball longer than a QB like a Peyton Manning. I also think that having bigger receivers who can get in the short to intermediate passes thrown to them would help. We had to turn to CP much too often than we needed to in the passing game where if larger receivers would've been available, we would not have had to go to the "check down" guy and they may have been able to fight through tackles in the open field after quick passes up the middle. This is why we spent our first three picks on big guys but we have yet to be able to implement them into our offense and the results are the same....3's!!..we can't have that.

I forgot about the recievers Stan.I feel like we wasted our top picks on WRs'.We should have gone after some Offensive Linemen.I was expecting big things from our Recievers this year.I know the season is at the halfway point but we need our WRs' not named Moss to step it up!!

That is the best statement made this season! If we don't start scoring more TD's we won't win these big games that are coming up.

I'm going to go ahead make this prediction  because I have a feeling....

Devin Thomas and/or Fred Davis will get their first TD for the 'Skins tomorrow night against dem 'Boys and one may have a pretty big game. I just have a feeling that Zorn is a offensive minded coach, is not impressed with our lack of scoring the TD and have made some adjustments during the bye week that will avail us to get one of these guys the ball, especially in short field situations.

It will not take any trickeration in the red-zone... IMO once we get there we will finally use these big guys for the reason that we drafted them because what we have been doing is not working
