Seems like after every loss and/or disappointing performances, I read statements like, 'at least we have a winning record', 'I did not think that we would be (insert record) at this point of the season', 'who'da thunk this'?, who,da thunk that'?
Well Ida thunk as I predicted here on T-Y's thread....
http://forum.redskinsheads.com/index.php/topic,571.0.html .Where I predicted us to go 11-5 this season.
In fact, I was thinking the offense would perform better than they have performed. The game yesterday was set up by the Rams performance, the Browns performance and the Lions performance. We were going up and down the field running the hell out of Portis and coming away praying that Suisham hits the field goal at the end.
I stated a few weeks ago that if we do not get going offensively that it was going to come back and bite us in the ass when we meet a good team and last night game was the ass biter. Are we in trouble?...No, I do not think so...Can we be without adjusting some things in the passing game?...Of course we can...NO SUGAR COAT ABOUT IT!!
Santana is a great receiver but he is small and the season is liable to wear on him as it gets longer and ARE is not really a good complement to him but he is servicable. BUT Thrash and Thomas is pretty much non-existent and it is hurting us once we have a small field to work when our bigger receivers are not contributing. If Kelly is not going to be ready we should've just place him on IR and picked up someone....I do not know why we are not using fred Davis!!
If we can remember, we had the same problems last season and Gibbs went out and got Reche Caldwell and Kenan McArdell to complement, Moss and ARE and the passing game opened up.These are the type of moves that made Gibbs one of the greatest finishers ever and the ones that we are going to have to make in order to continue to improve this season.
I think that we are too good of a team to be settling for the "at leasts" and without the tweaks our season is gonna end up much shorter than it would with the adjustments.
