Heading "home" to DC for Skins vs Eagles 12/21- need advice!!!!

    I am too excited for words. My sister and I are shooting down from Upstate New York to DC for the 12/21 Eagles game for my birthday!! [insert pure joy here]. I was born in MD.... well...quite a while ago. Neither of us have been there in about 15 yrs. We know nothing about Landover anymore. Thats why I desperately need your help!!
   Luckily, we at least have our tickets LOL! We need a decent (and safe) hotel and information about parking. I am just wondering if popular opinion would be that we should get a hotel out of the area  - if the local hotels are not the best. (All of the reviews I am finding for the hotels in the vicinity are kind of scarey - dirty rooms and unsafe parking lots.) We would consider southern Pennsylvania hotels as we pass through. 
    In regards to parking, we are not afraid to walk.... two miles wouldn't be a problem- as long as it is relatively safe. I hear alot about the parking passes, but, I can't seem to find anyone selling them individually. I would not know what one looked like anyway. They could send me a Uno card and I would be clueless. 
    So thats the issue, any info on parking and hotels..... or super secret awesome hotels within walking distance - would be greatly appreciated! (A girl can dream can't she??)

Cash parking is right near the stadium 25$.
Take exit 17B from I-495 (ignore sign saying to take other exits.) 
Get off the ramp and merge left.  You will see FedEx field at the light at Redskins Road.  Go thru the light at Redskins road and make your next left at the light onto Barlowe Road.  You will see a sign for cash parking.  Once on Barlowe next the first left and follow the people waving you on.  Its real close to FedEx and only 25$.

Clean and safe hotels in Frederick MD if you are coming down US 15.  Just a little over an hour from Fed Ex.

You might try on Route 1 near U of Maryland for a hotel. You can also try on central ave heading towards D.C for the parking passes. They have alot of people selling tickets and parking passes at the McDonalds. If you still have a problem send me a message, i have a blue parking pass and maybe we can meet and you could ride with me. We can try to save to some money and are you also trying to go to our tailgate?? Let me know...
