Brady injured for Patriots

Posted: News | NFL.com Staff | Tags: New England Patriots, Tom Brady

Bad, bad news for Patriots Nation. Quarterback Tom Brady went down with an apparent left knee injury early in the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady stepped up in the pocket to make a throw, and stepped into Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, who was down on the field in front of him. Brady’s left knee collided with Pollard, buckled, and he went down holding the area immediately below his kneecap.

Brady was helped up off the field, and walked gingerly with the help of trainers to the sideline. He was later led down a staircase into Gillette Stadium by team personnel. Backup QB Matt Cassel replaced Brady on the Patriots’ next drive.

No on that.  They have now said that they are not bringing anyone in.

This is true per the upcoming article but I have to agree with Shefter about them having something planned....

Patriots change mind on Simms, Rattay
Posted: September 8th, 2008 | Adam Schefter | Tags: Chris Simms, New England Patriots, Tim Rattay

The mysterious Patriots keep getting more mysterious.

They brought in quarterbacks Chris Simms and Tim Rattay on Monday. Once they arrived, they were told the situation had changed and they no longer were needed.

So Simms and Rattay left Foxborough, Mass., without a workout or a contract.

The Patriots have to have something in the works — a trade, eyes on another quarterback, something. But the mystery surrounding the Patriots only intensifies.

It would not surprise me if they came sniffing around Todd Collins, he is a vetern who should last season he could take a team on a run. I do not see Biicheck going for a younger man if he goes shopping.

It does not matter how much natural ability you have, if you fail to apply it your not going to go far.
