http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=37870LaRon Landry could be sidelined at least another week as he continues to rehab a hamstring injury.
Landry sat out practice again on Tuesday, instead working off to the side with athletic trainers.
If he misses this Saturday's preseason game against Carolina, then that would be four preseason games Landry would have missed.
"LaRon has continued to work and if he can end up practicing at the end of this week, I would play him [against Carolina this Saturday]," Jim Zorn said. "But it looks more likely that he will have to wait another week before he gets an opportunity to play."
Landry, in his second NFL season, played in 16 games last year and recorded 97 tackles, 1.5 sacks and seven passes defended.
He came on late in the season, recording two interceptions in the Redskins' playoff game at Seattle.
It's uncertain if Landry will play in the preseason finale on Aug. 28 against Jacksonville.
Team officials remain hopeful he will be ready for the Week 1 regular season game against the New York Giants.
Defensive coordinator Greg Blache admits he is concerned the injury could slow Landry's growth as a player. In particular, Blache wants Landry and Reed Doughty to have a good rapport on the field.
Zorn said he met with Landry on Tuesday morning.
"The only thing that I am holding on to is that he is a veteran, he understands the defense, and that he plays recklessly at full speed," Zorn said. "His leg has to be able to hold up in order to play within his frame of reference."
