http://blogs.usatoday.com/thehuddle/2008/08/report-favre-to.html

Update: 12:10 a.m. ET: The Green Bay Press-Gazette confirms from an NFL insider that the Packers have traded Brett Favre to the Jets.

USA TODAY still has not confirmed. But ESPN has seconded the Fox report.

------------------------

It's not official yet. But Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com says the Packers have traded Brett Favre to the Jets.

USA TODAY has not yet confirmed this.

Glazer says the Jets will send a single draft pick that could rise in value based on Favre's play next year.

The Jets would not confirm the move when reached by USA TODAY. More to come.

I am just glad it is over

The only regular NFL tv we get here is a one hour total access programme a day late, perhaps now it will cover somthing other than Favre.

I concur!  Never been so sick and tired of hearing about one person in my life.

Curious to see how this all plays out.  Think part of reason he was signed was to sell tickets
to the new Giants/Jets Stadium.  If things start to go south, wonder how he will handle the
NY media.  This isn't Green Bay.  He will be under the microscope in the Big Apple.

Wow, before I went to bed, I thought that the QB friendly Tampa Bay's will trade for Farve. But I think the Jets are a better fit. I am so glad this is all over. If Farve came back to win a superbowl, than I don't think it will be with the Jets. That is just my opinion. I think if he had stayed retired and took the 25 mil from the Packers he would have been better off. Hopefully that this will not damper his legendy to much in the coming years.

Personally I think Tampa Bay was a much better fit.  Gruden used to work for the Packers and runs the Walsh/Holmgren West Coast Offense that Favre has played in almost his whole career.  Coles is OK but I'd rather throw to Galloway I think.

Can't take credit for this, but saw this on another board.  Got a good chuckle.

This may sound ridiculous to you guys and it's just my personal opinion but, I think Garcia is a better fit for Tampa Bay than Brett Favre.

The Jets have a very good offensive line and a good RB in Thomas Jones who will experience better success now that "Candy Arm" Pennington is not behind center.

But here is my question, The Jets gave up a conditional 4th round pick to acquire him from GB.  What is to stop them from trading him to Minnesota for a 2nd round pick?  Could that happen?

Good point Blitz - I was not even thinking about that. Could the packers have made a certain deal with the Jets for that not to happen?

One thing stops this, seemingly the Packers put in place a poison pen clause, If the Jets trade him back to an NFC North team they have to forfeit 3 first round picks  Shocked. Now thats nasty

It has been reported that there is a clause in the trade that if the Jets trade Brett to the Vikings they will owe the Packers their next three first round picks.  He is staying a Jet.

LOL... I would think so....WOW GB are really scared for Favre to be in there division. If they feel that he is that terrifying they should've kept him
