I knew that the Bears had to make this move....

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (AP) — Kick returner Devin Hester has signed a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears, the team has announced.
Hester skipped the first two days of training camp because he wanted to re-negotiate his contract although he had two years left. Hester returned to camp Friday, saying there was progress in the negotiations.

Hester was a second-round draft pick in 2006. He says he skipped practices to make a statement that he was serious about a new deal.

Hester's previous contract was for $445,000 for the 2008 season.

The terms of the contract have not yet been announced. Hester is scheduled to speak to the media Sunday afternoon.

I agree, and too he was drafted as a CB and return specialist...20 receptions for 299 yards with 2 TD's with a 81 yarder is not too shabby with the limited time that he has played the position on the pro level. I don't think that he will ever get 10 interceptions, 70 receptions for over 1000 yards while handling kick-off and punts and nor should  he be expected to get those type of numbers but I can gaurantee that whenever he is on the field, that  he will get extra attention.

WOW we said at least 1 million per year but obviously he was worth well more than that....

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Migraine headache No. 23 was alleviated for the Chicago Bears over the weekend. Devin Hester ended his two-day training camp holdout in the wee hours Friday morning. By Sunday, the electrifying returner and projected No. 1 receiver had a four-year contract extension that could be worth $40 million.........
