Cowboys will waive WR Glenn following dispute over injury waiver

OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys will waive veteran receiver Terry Glenn.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday the team planned to let him go after weeks of a dispute over whether the 34-year-old would sign an injury waiver.

Glenn missed all but the final game of the regular season last year after two surgeries on his right knee.

He didn't want to sign a waiver that would pay him just $500,000 of his $1.74 million base salary if he re-injured the knee and couldn't play.

Simone Comments: The cowgirls are a little thin on the WR positions. Clayton is suck. wonder if Jerry Jones will go after WR Boldin (Cards), since he is holding out and wants out.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion TY. This forum was created to discuss interest and rivals. I do care if they are thin because that is what I want too. I don't appreciate your tone of voice, and here is a quote from Boldin about his situation so get your facts straight too.

If there was any question about how wide receiver Anquan Boldin felt about his contract situation, there isn’t any longer After completing the team’s conditioning run Thursday, Boldin met with the media for the first time and proceeded to say, given an absence of a new deal, he no longer wanted to negotiate a new contract with the Cardinals and would not sign an extension.

“For me it’s been disappointing, but it is what it is,” Boldin said matter-of-factly. “At this point, I’m not even interested in a contract.”

Boldin added that the concept of his getting a new deal began two years ago and “I was promised a new deal before the season.”

“Right now I don’t want a deal,” said Boldin, who has three years remaining on his

current contract. “People might think I am being funny or saying it just to say it, but for me, I’m tired of it. I wash my hands of the whole situation. My agent is under orders to not negotiate.”

Boldin said he felt led on by the team, “but if you ask them, they’d probably say different.”

Saying he didn’t think the damage could be undone, Boldin added he would play out his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $2.5 million, $2.75 million and $3 million in salary over that time.

While he insisted he never asked for a trade in the offseason, when asked if he’d want a trade now Boldin said “I don’t know right now. I can’t answer that.”

Simone I agree a move for Boldin would appear an obvious choice, but it would cost them. But we all know Jerry will do almost anything to win NOW. I just hope Boldin is too expensive (salary cap wise for them)

It does not matter how much natural ability you have, if you fail to apply it your not going to go far.

I could see Jerry going after Boldin.  Just wonder how Boldin and TO would mesh.  Would it be possible for
Romo to throw enough balls to keep both happy.  Regardless if Cowboys go after Boldin, I would be surprised to see them implode.

Simmy, I don't think that T-Y was being spiteful. This is how he expresses himself when the Cowboys are brought up but when he comments like that it is not against the poster but instead against the Dallas Cowboys.

Both of you are great people so I am sure that this time that his post was misinterpreted.

I think that teams have been salivating over Boldin every since the rift between he and the Cardinals started but I do not think that they are going to let him go anywhere.

IMO, they made sure that they got Fizgerald signed so that they could have that dynamic duo. I also think that because of the lost of Bryant Johnson that the need to keep Boldin is much greater now because if they lose him they would have to start all over in building a receiving crew even though they do have Fitzgerald.

Boldin wants to get the #1 receiver money he deserves, no team with a wideout like T.O. can afford to add boldin to their receiving squad.  That is why Dallas made a huge mistake in not drafting a WR and in the middle rounds, where they could have gotten a descent prospect at receiver for a cheap price (because hurd and crayton aren't doing anything).  All in all this is great news, you can count any game Owens isn't in as a loss for the boys.

Thank you for this post. After reading it again today, I see that I may have misinterpreted T.Y. comments. No cowboy post should come between two Redskins fans. I apologies.
