With Joe Gibbs retirement what is in store for our beloved Redskins? How can you sum up what Joe Gibbs has meant to this team--especially the past 6 weeks? It has been through his steady leadership and gentle spirit that the team and its fans have been able to deal with the frustrations and devastating losses endured this season. It is because he is the man he is--a man who would put his family above the sport and team he loves--that is why we love him so! He has nurtured a sense of kinship and leadership among the players so that they can forge ahead on their own. A true leader not only leads, he teaches and then steps away so that his followers can then lead themselves.
ALL HAIL JOE GIBBS!!!
NOW AND ALWAYS!!
Thanks for the memories and wonderful lessons Joe! You will be deeply missed!

Great Post skins12!!!
Mr. Gibbs is a one in a lifetime coach who I think would not have re-entered coaching at his age if not to stabilize his beloved Redskins (he would not have come back with any other squad for any amount of money). I think that he feels that he has the right pieces in place for our team to move forward with the foundation that he has laid in Gibbs II.

GREAT JOB COACH!!!
WE LOVE YOU MAN!!

This is an awesome thread, but I wouldn't know how to sum up greatness.

Amazing guy, I stand in awe. What a great example he's been to the organization and the fans...

Joe Gibbs will always be the true face of the Washington Redskins. His legacy here will probably never be matched. He didn't get us to any Super Bowls in his second tour here but he made football exciting again and gave every fan of the Redskins hope.
It's now the eve of announcing the next head coach of the Redskins and everything that Joe Gibbs built here is about to come tumbling down. Jim Fassel is the presumed new HC with Dan Snyder still in pursuit of Rex Ryan as DC. There goes everything Joe worked for and here comes another 2-3 years of rebuilding. Damn you to hell Dan Snyder! Damn you!

Yikes! Deep breath.... slow exhalation.... there! Now, let's remember one of the many lessons learned from Coach Joe. You gotta have faith! There have been NO OFFICIAL announcements yet. All of the talk out there has been media hype---"it appears as if..." "Fassel is a POSSIBLE frontrunner" "Fassel EXPECTS to be named HC..." NONE of this is a definite! Don't lose hope! Don't drink THAT Koolaid--I have a better flavor over here... AND no matter the outcome, we are Redskins Nation and we will persevere and prosper!!!
Hail to the Redskins!!
Fight on, Fight on!!!

Skins12th, I think that it is more than just "koolaid" this time and Fassel will be our new coach. But, I am down with it if that is the final decision. There is nothing we could do about it but offer support to the new staff in DC.

With that done, if it is indeed done, my next hope is that Vinny, Fassel and the guys come up with a plan for getting help via the free agent market and bringing in  good draft picks. The team is a very good team and I think it will be competitive again next season and if the offseason is a productive one, we may just be singing Frassel's praises come this time next year....well I hope so anyway

I still wonder though...What in the heck did Williams and Saunders do to Snyder to make him alienate them like that? I know that coach Gibbs had nothing to do with this one and I do not think they he is a happy camper right about now about this decision .
