...does this change anything?

Seems as though Sanders and Irving has convinced Pacman Jones to go back to Adam Jones in order to start his return to the NFL on the right foot. This article suggests that, even in Dallas that there are some serious questions/concerns that the name is not going to change the man.

I truly hope that he will take the necessary steps to stay out of trouble but, I think that it is going to take more than a name change. Serious counseling and follow ups is what this man needs and I really hope that he gets it. The main reason being is he  a threat to society but another reason is that he is a talented young man who I would like see get his life together.

I really hope that after all that Sanders and Irving have been through in their lives that they had more advice to offer this guy than this....

A name is a name and has nothing to do with him as a person.  He'll always be Pacman, regardless, but whatever floats their boat down there in enemy territory.

I don't know, maybe it's me but  I really care about what happens to these guys off the field. Enemy or not, I hope that he  plays in the NFL for the next 10 years with our WR's just killing him of course. I am  not into thinking that these guys are beyond help but would rather see them get the help and better advice that they need rather than people giving them lame advice such as a name change....

I'd rather see this type of news from a troubled young man than I would hear about him doing something else to get him in trouble...

Jones, who had two interceptions during organized team activities earlier this month, was the first player on the practice field Tuesday,

" Patrick Crayton said. he's taking care of his responsibilities."

I just think they are all hype right now, they have a tough four games to start the season off.  If they start off 2-2 like I think they are, watch out in Dallas all the wheels on the bandwagon are going to start coming loose.

I feel ya T-Y and I hope that you are right but those 'boys was pretty impressive last year. I kept saying that they were not that good all last year only for them to prove me wrong. So they pretty much made a believer out of me and although I hope that these guys lose every game next season, I expect them to be just as good. Hell I am still waiting on Romo to fall apart as I predicted he would after everyone jumped on his bandwagon when he first became the starter but even that has nothing happened for me.

I definitely see what you are saying, and I do agree.  That's a good point.  I just, sadly, don't see it happening.  People are creatures of habit, and once something is on the mind, it's hard to forget.  Dwayne Johnson is still "The Rock", and I think if he's Adam, he'll still be Pacman.  But I definitely see your point and do hope good comes of it.  It looks like he's off to a good start.  Smiley  And yes, let's hope to see our WRs killin' him out there on the field!!

People are creatures of habit, and once something is on the mind, it's hard to forget.

I just can't believe in this cliche', if this was true Malcolm X would've been Malcolm Little "the numbers runner" after his release from prison instead of becoming the great leader that he became. Stanley Williams (The guy knew that he was going to die in prison, death row, and still kept with the positive) would not have started writing childrens books, being a anti-gang activist but instead been "Tookie" the killer, kept promoting violence and, even while in prison kept his allegiance to the Crips . Greg Mathis would be a drug dealing gang member instead of a retired judge and a current activist for the rights of inner city youths.... And even myself,if I hadn't changed BIG TIME would be somewhere at this hour ,fervently trying to find some type of trouble to get into, in jail or maybe even dead, instead of being online, in my house, away from trouble, Redskinheading.

IMO, people are sometimes a product of their environment and ALL are capable of change due to life experiences (in my case it was the birth of my children and not wanting them to know that daddy was doing the things that he was doing),awakenings and the proper guidance and are definitely NOT "creatures of habits", if so prayer and believing that God is in control would be just another something to do or say. I do not only hope that "Pacman"  will experience these changes but anyone else who is troubled/misguided/ignorant in facing society properly will do the same.

Considering the chance of him serving time someday is fairly good, I guess he didn't want to called Pacman.

Don Imus sure knows how to come directly about how he feels. He talks too much but but sometimes I wonder...

Don Imus on Pacman Jones–Hear for Yourself

Hey, people are paying attention to Don Imus again!

Though the surprise factor would seem to be low when a radio personality with a history of controversial comments says something inflammatory, Mr. Imus has regained the spotlight.

In a nutshell: Speaking yesterday on his WABC-AM radio show about NFL player Adam Jones (who recently decided to shed his “Pacman” nickname)Mr. Imus raised the issue of Mr. Jones’s race. Given Mr. Imus’s history of fumbling matters of race, this understandably attracted some interest. After all, he was fired from MSNBC and CBS Radio for calling the Rutgers University women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hos.” Today Mr. Imus (pictured above) responded on his radio show, saying his comments were intended to highlight unfair treatment of blacks.

Of course, in the digital age, it’s easier than ever for interested parties to go directly to the raw material and decide for themselves. Here’s the clip from Mr. Imus’s show yesterday:

Mr. Jones is upset by Mr. Imus’s comments and will “pray for him,” reports the Dallas Morning News.

Another article...

http://www.topsocialite.com/don-imus-adam-pacman-jones-racist-remarks/

Radio host Don Imus was talking about Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones on Monday morning and let a possible racist remark slip out when talking to sports announcer Warner Wolf. It went like this.

Wolf: “He’s been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005.”

Imus: “What color is he?”

Wolf: “He’s African-American.”

Imus: (chuckles) “There you go. Now I know.”

On Tuesday morning, Imus defended his comment by saying he was making a “sarcastic point.” He feels that African Americans are “arrested for no reason” and to take that comment as racist is crazy. Listen to the full audio of his explanation below.

Imus has only been back on the air six months after being axed for referring to members of the Rutgers University women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hoes.”
