Terry Glenn, WR  from Dallas Cowboys Wants release June 18: Glenn has refused to sign a $500,000 injury settlement with the Cowboys and wants to be released, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. "I was told I would be cut if I didn’t sign the waiver," Glenn told the Star-Telegram. "So I guess they’re going to release me as promised." More

Terry Glenn had better re-think...I do not think that there will be a lot of demand for a 33 year old, damaged, 2nd-tier when healthy, recever. He may be picked up but he is not going to get much more than what the Cowboys are offering.

I think Dallas is making a horrible mistake here, Crayton and the rest of the group have proved they are incapable of the 2nd WR roll.  Glenn has been great when healthy, and is only a year removed from 2 consecutive thousand yard seasons.  Why Dallas doesn't comprehend his value is beyond me, but I think we will see that the release of players such as Fasano, and Glenn are going to really hurt the Cowboys down the line.  Very similar to the redskins and players such as Ryan Clark.

I agree with Mike and BMahoney. Terry Glenn should re-think because of his age, but so should Dallas, since they did not draft for WR, I think Glenn would have at least 1 - 2 years left as value.

You are completely right, because at this point in his career the only teams wanting Glenn will be Superbowl contenders that have a lackluster group of WR, i.e. Dallas, San Diego (I have never been a fan of chambers).  My prediction is Glenn will end up in an AFC playoff team, San Diego and Indy come to mind (especially considering Harrison's dilemmas), Glenn will have a descent season 750+ and Dallas will be sitting wondering why they ever believed Crayton could bea  #2 receiver in this league.

I think that if Dallas does implode this year the lack of signing Terry Glenn will not  be a big part of the implosion. Their stance is probably that although they know that Glenn is a very capable receiver it has also been proven that their pass offense works without him with last year's performance.

I know that they did not draft a receiver but I think that they will be able to get through this year just fine with Romo, T.O. and co. and draft one next year. Bottom line is we must gear up for a fight this year with the 'boys because by looking up and down their roster, I do not expect them to fall apart this season even without Glenn.

Heck with Tank getting fully acclimated to the line and the aquistion of Pacman and Felix Jones, they may be even more of a force to deal with. I would like to wish our team into the perfect situation and our foes to their demise but it just is not going to fall that way. Our team will just have to get themselves prepared to stay competitive with the Cowboys this year and I think that we have the talent to do just that without them imploding.

Dallas already has Terry Glenn signed, and his absence solely will not have a large negative impact on the team.  But his presence could have a very positive impact and he really isn't asking for that much... only to be paid the amount of money he was promised when he signed his contract.  If Dallas does implode this year it will be due to their poor treatment of players high in character and incredible treatment to players who have never possessed an ounce of class or character.  But you are right the Redskins need to prepare for the worst and on paper Dallas is very threatening, keep in mind though so were the 2006 Redskins.

You're right what's on paper really does not mean too much and if I hadn't seen what they are able to accomplish on the field it may have me less worried about their team. I think that they have shown plenty of respect to their character players by signing Barber and (Newman was it?) to very lucrative contracts. Everyone on every team is not going to be pleased with their contract and it looks like it is going to be Glenn in Dallas' case.

IMO, it just doesn't look like it is as much controversy in Texas as we may want it to be. .

and according to this statement...

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/NFL_SC-RUMOR

Dallas Cowboys Updated:06/19/2008
Disgruntled Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn could be ready to mend fences with team owner Jerry Jones and join the team for training camp next month, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Glenn and Jones had discussions over a proposed split contract that would reduce Glenn's salary from $1.74 million to $500,000 should he reinjure his surgically repaired right knee.

....THIS may not even be an issue
