Come on now "R"...I SAW THE TAPES!.....
over and over again  Embarrassed

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A jury acquitted R&B star R. Kelly of child pornography charges on Friday, finding he did not make an explicit videotape showing him having sex with an underage girl who called him "godfather."

Kelly, whose given name is Robert, cried and repeatedly whispered "thank you Jesus" after each not guilty finding was announced in the 14-count case, according to his lawyer. If found guilty, he could have faced a 15-year prison term.

The eight-man, four-woman jury deliberated about six hours over two days before delivering the verdict. The 14 counts referred to specific acts depicted in the tape.

Minutes after the verdict was announced in Cook County Criminal Court, a red-eyed Kelly, 41, strode out of the courthouse via a barricaded entrance without a word to reporters or fans screaming his name.

He waved and climbed into a sport utility vehicle with tinted windows.

Two teenage girls ran through a hallway in the venerable Chicago courthouse screaming, "He's not guilty!"

Money and fame puts people on a different plane of justice.  The more you have the better your chances of beating the system.  Common folks like us would be doing serious time.

I just can't believe how people with money can get away with stuff crimes like this! If it was an ordinary man with these charges, he would be in prison for the next 15-20 years. I will never get the justice system. So if you have the money, you can basically get away with any crime you want. This is sad but true!

Did we really think that "R" would be convicted?

The trial was postponed for forever. If a defense can not build a case in that amount of time they should not be practicing law

Anyone here follow law cases?  Im a dork so I like reading about them.  They couldn't convict him under the law.  Girl said it wasn't her.  Some family said it was her but others said it wasn't.  That's Reasonable Doubt right there and thats all it takes?

You're right BigMike and I really hope that it was not her since he was her godfather but there may have also been some money involved to make her say that it was not her....just a thought.

I think that years ago I read somewhere that the parents dropped her off or something and somewhat new about their relationship, so if they were that sleazy, I would not put it past them to take a mil or 2 for keeping their mouths closed
