Do you think Reed played well enough to be the starter going into next year? This is assuming LaRon Landry will reamain at FS which I belive he should.

I think he played very well down the stretch and he should start next year. Many Skins fans feel he was too quiet and did not make enough big plays. I think at SS if no one hears your name chances are you are doing your job. Landry didn't start making huge plays/hits consistantly untill he moved to FS. I can't think of any instances of him blowing coverages or missing tackles last year. You don't always need a stud at every position. Your thoughts?

I like Doughty at SS...he made one big mistake against the Bills to put them in position for the infamous field goal in which Gibbs  called the 2 time outs, but other than that I think that he played solidly enough to get the starting nod this season.

However, I do think that we should draft another safety in the mid rounds  for depth.

I agree MB.  I'd like to see a young kid come in and push him for a job.

I like Doughty a lot too. He came into a pretty difficult situation where if he had played w/ a take no prisoners approach he may have been seen as trying to  "take Sean's place". I think he's new enough to be figuring out exactly where he fits in to what is in place. I say give him a fair shot and let's see what he'll do. I like what I've seen so far.

I was watching Doughty in the last game the other day (until my wife deleted the DVR  Angry)

He was in on every tackle and did very well in run support.  I think he stepped up his game last year.  I no doubt think they should bring in competition, but he deserves a legitimate shot to compete for the starting spot.

I think he is a very good backup but I wish we would have gotten somebody in FA.  But since we did not then we have to work with what we have!!!! I still think we should have gotten one guy in FA for the secondary.
