By this time everybody has analyzed, graded and questioned this year’s draft class, but the one constant that never gets old is predictions. Everybody wants to know how the draft picks will perform this season and what they’re capable of doing.

In this new feature entitled, “Rookie Most Likely To”, Scout.com’s Chris Steuber presents 13 predictions and identifies a prospect for each occurrence.

With that said, my crystal ball reveals the Rookie Most Likely To…

Be a steal in 5 years:  Redskins QB Colt Brennan

A lot of pundits think that Brennan will be nothing more than an Arena League quarterback because he doesn’t have the ideal size, throwing motion or overall quickness that translate to the NFL. But the one thing about Brennan is that anytime someone questions his ability, he always bounces back and proves all of his doubters wrong.

In the last ten years, there have been four quarterbacks selected in the sixth round that have gone on to be Pro Bowl players: Matt Hasselbeck, Marc Bulger, Tom Brady and Derek Anderson. I’m not going to compare Brennan with any of the quarterbacks mentioned, but his resiliency is uncanny, and nothing seems to faze him.

Brennan is in the perfect situation with the Redskins to show he’s capable of being an efficient NFL quarterback. New Head Coach Jim Zorn brings his West Coast offense to Washington, and Brennan is the perfect QB to develop in this offense. Although he worked out of the shotgun at Hawaii, Brennan has experience in the West Coast system going back to his high school days. Brennan’s quick release, accuracy and ability to run the offense will be enough to push Jason Campbell for the starting job in two years.

If Brennan is challenging Jason for the gig in two years than we really missed on Jason cause I expect pro-bowl in two year.

I'm with BM21. Brennan may be good but I think that JC is going to lead us to the promise land.[/b]

I really do not know what to think of Campbell right now...I really HOPE that he can get it done and THINK that he has the tools but this HAS to be the year that he takes the bull by the horns and rises to the top tier QB level.

For three years we have found excuses for Campbell but there is none this year. He has the receivers and he has the in game experience so if he does not produce this season, I think that we should start looking for an alternative with maybe he and Brennan battling it out for the starting QB position in the '09-'10 season.

But hopefully Campbell will not allow this to happen by having a stellar performance this upcoming year and erase all doubt .

Hopefully we never have to find out how good Brennan is, but its sure nice to know that we have a decent insurance policy, (and a handpicked qb by Zorn, though it wasn't a first rounder or anything).  Only the future will tell how it all pans out, I haven't seen to much from Jason yet to show a lot of promise, and I haven't seen anything in Brennan yet to show he could be a decent qb, but they both possess certain qualities that when taken advantage of, it gives these two the ability to play at the top level (going on Brennan in college).  I just hope one of them pans out and in the next 3-4 years we have a franchise qb, so we can compete season after season.
