http://www.bleacherreport.com/articles/23910-Dallas-Cowboys-Prepare-Yourselves-It-Is-Going-to-Be-Bad

If the Oakland Raiders have taught us one thing, that thing is you cannot build a team with all the bad men in the league and expect to win. The Dallas Cowboys need to have a serious look in the mirror, and figure out if they want to be the Oakland Raiders in ten years. That is where they are headed. Jerry Jones might as well start shopping for track suits.

Observe: the carousel of knuckleheads currently parading through the Cowboys locker room. TO. The hated, endzone dancing, team destroying, waste of space that had the chance to be great in Philly and blew it up for a few dollars more. Tank Johnson, arrested multiple times, kicked out of Chicago, and now playing a position in a defense he's not really suited to. And don't let me forget, Pacman. If only he were just a chubby yellow blip, it would be so much easier. He's a bad person. Period. He shows no inclination to change, and his assertions that he has or will should be treated as bold-faced lies. He's going to do it again.

Jerry Jones goes nuts every year at free agency, boldly ignoring the trend of winning Super Bowl teams being built in good drafts and smart free agent additions. The Colts, Patriots, Steelers, Giants and Eagles routinely draft more players than the other teams, and sign fewer big name free agents. Yet all of them have won or played in a Super Bowl in this decade. The teams that go nuts in free agency, like the Cowboys and Raiders, sometimes hit it right for a year, but inevitably slide downward. I think this year is the year the Cowboys start imploding.

Wade Phillips is a nice guy, but he's a lame-duck coach. Jerry Jones is paying his offensive coordinator more money just to keep him away from other teams until Phillips screws up enough to be fired. The players know it, so they know the first sign of adversity is going to result in a coaching change. So why should they listen to him about anything? Cowboys fans should also be concerned with the exodus of Bill Parcells people from their staff. Parcells has stolen almost all the key personell that built the Cowboys team that won 13 games last year. That ain't good.

Jerry Jones likes "yes" men, people who agree with him. That's why both his kids work in the front office. He knows he can control Jason Garrett, mold the team to his liking, and he's just enough of an egomaniac to think he can run the team to a championship. He cannot. Without a great coach to stand up to him, he picks bad players and signs costly, ineffective big-name free agents. I would not be surprised if within two seasons the team is back to 5-11.

Well, at least the new stadium will be nice.

While I agree with a lot of what this article says, the author neglects to note that unfortunately the Cowboys have been pretty good (as of recent) at taming the more out of control players in the league.  He also neglects to mention how good qb play usually leads to an all around good team, and again unfortunately for us, Romo has really shown signs that he will be one of the NFL's franchise qb's along with Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Palmer, Hasselbeck.  Though he definitely is not there yet, he has shown the ability, but if you've seen his games you can't help but notice the streak of luck that stays on his side, and I doubt it will last forever.

Dallas has definitely made some questionable player personel moves and their gambles may come back to haunt them but on the other hand the moves can get them to the level that they need to be to get past that playoff ghost that haunts them also. I would not want neither of those guys on our squad but facing that talent twice per year also presents a problem that the FO has to prepare to face.

Romo is indeed turnover prone , in fact I look for him to turn the ball over in every game that I watch him play in but he is more of an accurate passer than he is a player who creates a problem for his team. I hope that he does not get past his turnover problem, ala Tiki Barber because that will make him that much more dangerous.

That sounds familiar.

The Cowboys will be fine unfortunately.  If they miss the playoffs this year it will be for reasons other than they are bad character guys.

While rubbernecking we have to be careful not to wreck as well. LOL

-I highly doubt the Cowboys will be fine this year, but that is just my opinion.  And while they may miss the playoffs due to other reasons, you have to take character issues into account.  While character may not be is evident on the field, it is present in the locker room and with players like Tank Johnson, Pacman, and TO, it isn't too far off to make the assumption that one of the guys if not more will cause some sort of disturbance in the locker room (and the worst part for the Cowboys is Wade doesn't have the backbone to do anything about it).

I'm sorry but Romo really hasn't been impressing me that much.  Sure, he throws to TO a lot and gets his TDs but other than TO, is this kid really making the throws he needs to make?  I'm thinking, "NO".

I agree I don't think Romo is as great as his "hype".  Have to wait and see what the year brings.  Smiley

I'm still not impressed w/Romo..and not just b/c he's a Cowboy Roll Eyes.  He's turnover prone and that costs games usually.  When you live by the pass...you die by it as well.  I don't know if the players they've attracted this year will be their downfall...but I hope so.  It made me puke w/all the Cowboy love around here...uuuggghhh!  Every freakin body I met in the past few years is a Cowboy fan.. ???WTF?  This area is so heavy w/the military that I've gotten used to the variety of teams folks like..but it seemed the Boys fans came out of the woodworks this past year in droves which is probably more attributed to their 13-3 record.  If they were 9-7 or 8-8 it would have really been peaceful around here.  Bandwagoners that they are!  Bastages! I can't stand most Cowboy fans..they're sooooooooo typical! Wink

Is TO really that much of a distraction any more?  This team seems to suit him far better than the Eagles.  He even jumped to Romo's defense at the end of last year, instead of throwing him under the bus in typical TO fashion.  I think Pacman will be the one stir the pot, but it does seem like Jerrah has some sort of calming effect on trouble makers.  Let's hope that goes away soon Smiley

They have become choke artists.  They can not win a big game and have not done so since the triplets played.

As I agree that Dallas has great talent and a upcoming QB. But I have to agree with the author. It's going to be bad.
