I agree, I think that we should be very thankful for the 4 seasons that we had Gibbs again. Not a knock on Campbell but the offense ran alright with a younger Brunnell in the past and again with Collins last season so that may even work with a knowledgable QB at the wheel.

I am excited as well and would be just as excited if Gibbs was still the coach. Although I think that players comments were complimentary to Zorn, as well as they should be, I do not think that they were putting a negative spin on anything that Gibbs has done. Well not until some of the editing started to take place. I can almost bet the farm on the fact that Sellers was asked more than one question but the answer that best seemed to put the dagger in Gibbs' back was the one that he decided to go with.

I agree Mike I don't think the players were being negative either. I think they respect Gibbs a lot but they are also excited about a more open offense. I think with anything new comes a sense of excitement. And yeah once the papers edited everything it sounded much worse than it was

I was ready for a change, I'm a Gibbs fan, but it just wasn't working this time. Although he did seem to bring some stability back that was sorely missing. Stable enought to even feel good about a coaching change.

I have no worries about the coaching change because of what Gibbs have together but I can not say that it was not working for Gibbs either. 1st year he was taking over a mess, 2nd year he made it to the playoffs, 3rd year the top RB went down, a young QB was inserted and also their were key injuries (out of the playoffs), 4th year we were back to the playoffs although we had some key injuries to the line and ST's death. I think that with Portis and the other guys healthy, that the progress from the '04-'05 season to the '07-'08 season would've been there for GibbsII. It is like the injuries in '06-'07 set us back to where it was like starting over again instead of feeding off of a previous playoff season.

Can't say I agree Mike, I supported Gibbs 100%, but unlike the 2nd year when it was Joe's coaching that got them on a win streak that propelled them into the playoffs, this past years win streak had more to do with the players, playing for Sean more than Joes coaching. Actually they won inspite of Joe's coaching IMO!

Yeah I hear that I lot too Monk but I can not agree with that. Although somewhat motivated by Seans death, the winning streak also conincided with the QB change so that may have had as much to do with the streak as Seans death did. Plays were being made by a red hot QB that was not made earlier in the year. I think that Collins had 2 player of the week honors in the last month of the season. The defense feeds off the offense and vice versa.

i have high hopes this year and I think that we are going to be better than everybody thinks. Meaning all the critics who say that we are going to finish dead last, I do not think we are going to win the division but i think that we are getting a wild card!!!! I think it is good that we do not have all the pressure on us to win such as the Cowgirls do and when they don't I want to see them melt down

Joe's management and critical judgement calls were just not up to par this time around. Frankly, him going along with even hiring Saunders was major mistake, the way that group played in 05 getting in the playoffs, there's no way they should have changed JOE'S offense going into 06!! QB change was needed but not the OC! HTTR
