Mine's and BMahoney's debate (Thanks B-money for a good debate without any rude comments!), prompted me to think about which, of the best teams from last year will take the deepest plunge and may not even make the playoffs in this coming season. I chose the teams from those that had a 11-5 or better record, with the exception of the Superbowl Champion Giants, who went 10-6.
I am going to start the voting off with the Green Bay Packers.
Although I think that the Giants will not make the playoffs either, I think that the Favre-less Packers will have the worst record than any of the other top teams from last season.

I bet you can guess who the first vote for the cowboys is, haha. I chose them over the g-men and the packers who were my other two considerations for two separate reasons; for the g-men I never considered them that great that superbowl win was a fluke (so them not doing well really isn't a fall), as far as GB I am one of the believer who is under the impression, the days of Favre are not over. By week 5 I bet he'll be the man standing under center, if not its a pretty close toss up between GB and Dal

I don't see how can you really considering the G-men a top team falling, they one more regular season game than us, and had CP been in week 2 we probably would have had one more win than them. They did win the SB but it was a fluke, and I personally don't see them performing much worst than 10-6 this season.

Maybe it was a fluke and they may not have been the best regular season team but, in the end they were the top team in the NFL.

I'm sorry I disagree, the Giants won the superbowl and thats all they did, they did not earn the right to be considered the best team in the league. That is given to the Pats who went 18-1, and only lost because of two fluke plays that will occur 1 in a million times, not the Giants who we beat during the regular season. The G-men were nothing more than a Wild Card team, they made a good run and luck was on their side, doesn't mean they are a top team in the NFL. If you put the Giants against any other team on that list, Vegas would be giving the G-men points.

THE SUPERBOWL THAT'S ALL!!?? It doesn't work that way, every team know what they are fighting for each and every year. Being the regular season champs means absolutely nothing gets you jack. The Giants stood alone at the end and have earned every accolade that they are getting and one of the accolades that they have earned and deserve to receive, is the right to be called the top team in the NFL for the '07-'08 season. Fluke or no.

When you win the superbowl you are the best team in the league. Thats why we call it the superbowl. The Pats had some flukes down the road to 18-0 too.

I'm with you Mike, the Packers will not be as good this year. But I feel the Giants will fall harder.

You think if week 1 Giants played Jax, IND, PAT, that they would give one of those teams points? They are not the best team in the league, the best team in the league is the team, that would give points to everyother team in the NFL (face it handicappers know their sports), that team is the Patriots. If the G-men are giving points to almost any of these teams this year, barring no serious injury, you might as well bet your life savings because its a sure bet.

I for one think the Packers are the only team on the list the Giants would even have a chance against

I don't care about Vegas, I care about what happens out on the field. The Giants proved they were the most complete team in the NFL and won the title of best team in the league by beating the Patriots when it counted.

It is not about "what if's" the Giants did what was necessary to earn the right to reign King until they are unseated.

Im sorry but this is the sport of football, have you two not heard of "any given sunday" thats what so great about the sport, anybody can upset anyone. Doesn't make them a better team than them, only that they won that game. -You can say its not about Vegas and it isn't, but right now what your saying is; hypothetically, if the Giants were to play any other team in the NFL and you had to bet on one of the teams straight up you would choose the Giants over every other team in the NFL, becausee Tyree made a 1 in a million catch and samuels had stone hands for 1 play. I don't think it is very logical, but agree to disagree, you guys have your opinion that the Giants are the best team in football, I disagree but respect your opinions.

WOW! I just noticed that the Pat's has the same amount of votes as the Giants. Do we really think that they will actually drop off that much next season? I find it hard to even think that because, besides getting a little older I do think that lost anything talent-wise.
