Well, get this, guys:
http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/After receiving permission to get out of house arrest if it’s to try out for an NFL team, former Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry said he’ll be a good player and an upstanding citizen if he gets that chance.
“I think it would be better to move on to another city, a fresh start, new team, new environment,” Henry told Sporting News Radio Wednesday. “I’m really a good guy. Just got caught up in a few bad situations.”
“A few” would be a bit of an understatement for Henry, who rivals Pacman Jones for the title of longest rap sheet in the NFL. But Henry described his run-ins with the law as “little incidents.” And he added that he expects to find another team that will employ him and that he thinks NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be understanding.
“I feel like I’m going to be fine because it ain’t what it seems and, hopefully, I can get the commissioner to see that and let him know what happened,” Henry said.
Henry named New Orleans and Dallas as places where he’d like to play, but so far neither the Saints, the Cowboys or any other NFL team has said publicly that it’s interested in Henry’s services.
