Wow! Look what I came home to! I love it. Guys, I just quickly browsed through the posts that I've missed while away for the past few days and with my limited time constraints (leaving town again tomorrow morning) I will need to go back through this thread and pay close attention to the suggestions being offered. Just a quick few things before I can really get into what needs to be addressed. 1) I love and appreciate all the kind words and member interaction. You guys are what makes this site tick. Any and all opinions, critisism, complaints and suggestions are well received. I want to make this site work for everyone. 2) Re: organizing the message board categorically. I agree with this. I've withheld doing so right now just because there are a lot of other changes coming down the pike that I think everyone will appreciate ( I hope - fingers crossed ). When I get back into town on Monday I will examine this thread very closely and open dialogue on what I can do to help make things better in here. Until, then.... much love! See you guys on Monday! Blitzy

Wah, wah, waaaaahhhh!!! Hear that you guys??? That's baby RH still in its infancy! Let's get her up on her feet before we start dressing her out in full pads, huh? Hey MB--look at how quickly the forum posts exploded once folks started to catch on--and the same with the blogs. This site is so new and it seems that it is kind of "member driven" and created--and I LOVE that! Just give us all a little time---"haste makes waste!" I think you and Pook came real close to falling into a "Slugfest" --which is a feature on our profile pages I'm curious about. I just don't feel bold enough or confident enough in my football or Skins knowledge to challenge someone--at least not yet! I really appreciate that some of you folks have that football acumen and can educate those like me that totally don't. I'm a schmoozer and proud to be so but I do love me some 'Skins football and I just gobble up whatever anyone here has to offer--schmaltz or stats! I think everyone will eventually find their own niche and strengths and the impact of their contributions will be felt like a sledgehammer once we get closer to the start of the season. Thanks MB--for keeping it real and advocating for your preferences but doing so in a respectful manner. We've come a long way, baby and we've got many miles to go before we sleep... HTTR and HTRH!!!!!

^ Eek, I hate to continue hijacking this thread for this...but I had to pop in and address something. Skins12...honey, nooooooooo, I would never come to blows or even remote Slugfest w/ MB, quite the contrary...please, please, please re-read the thread. You'll see we are actually on the same page about many things...the only differences are in that I think we need to just make do until site development changes are implemented. There's not much else we can do until then, IMHO. The rest of the dialogue was in regards to what those changes should be. I never went against anything MB or anyone else suggested. Besides, I could never Slugfest it out w/ the man I plan on turning into the Salsa King (so pls don't paint me out this way, pretty pls).

HTTR and HTRH!!!!! LOL ...S-12, I think that we should be thanking people like CT-skinsfan, Lady Brave, Riggins44 and B-zap for recognizing that this is a great site that, like you said is very new, needs that extra something to make things better and to elevate the progressions that the older members like myself may not have realized because we may have been satisfied with what we have. Although this IS a new site, I do think that most members are NOT new to forums and are aware of what makes a great sites and really do know that certain topics and discussions should be relegated to certain areas. Thankfully, we have the afore-mentioned members that are willing to express their opinions on what it will take to make RH the best Redskins site available to our fandom.

I agree Pook...anything that is said is said because we all care. I am pretty sure that the bit of disagreement that we may have had will not be our's or any of the other members last.

Silly Kids!! I was just kidding about the slugfest thing--You mean my sarcastic tone of voice doesn't come through my keyboard?--RATS! I am totally on board w/ what you both are saying and I appreciate that we have a site here that you can express those views-even if they are opposed or just different. I especially like that the discussion stayed civil even though it was obvious that you both felt strongly about your positions and it resulted in a lively discussion. I just wanted to make the point that since RH is still in the formative stages there's still room to grow and adjust and it has been happening on a daily basis. So, no worries if we aren't quite there yet! I guess I'm more of a free-flow-er than a build by the plan-er. I'm into just letting it naturally evolve and enjoying the journey. But without you planners & builders we wouldn't have much of an idea as to direction, would we? So, bring it on--everyone--grab a brush and start painting!!---the site that is--not each other!!

Pookie is the Buttah AND the home-baked bread it's smeared on! As she mentioned, the upcoming features that Blitz has in store for us should be a real boost to the site's usability and expansion. I agree that Blitz can't do it all, all the time (tho I do think he's bordering on superhero status here... ) so I am willing to provide whatever help I can if he's interested in marshalling the troops. Hear that Blitzer?? I'm all in! I am just one soul and tho I do believe we should all observe certain rules of social decorum and humanity I'm not over the moon about setting up a lengthy list of usage rules and guidelines. I've encountered that on another site and due to the size of membership, subjective interpretation, attitudes or whatever the rules are frequently by-passed/broken---even by the mods--and polite reminders or inquiries have oft resulted in scathing insults. So, my vote is that when the time comes to set guidelines I think that less is more to begin with and then as specific issues come to light then adjustments can be made if necessary. Just my 2 cents!

Due to the Pooksters and my debate (?),I have taken the time to read through more member profiles and the general make-up of RH and Pook is, indeed, correct and I was very WRONG about my statement of RH not being set up to be a social networking site and because I was the more vocal member that suggested that it was something other than what is set up to be, I felt the need to correct my statement.
I knew nothing about "Myspace" and how it works but I went there and realized that the focus IS on getting to know other members ( and as far as RH, Redskins fans) via their personal pages and interactions. As I went through profiles here I,too realized that there is more member participation than I initially thought there was /how it is intended to be and that members here know more than I thought that I knew.
I apologize to Blitz, Pook, Sean, S-12 and any other member for my posting of anything that I was ignorant about and therefby stating anything incorrectly.

It's all good, MB. I don't have a MySpace or anything like that either and when I first came here, I wasn’t sure what to expect. RH is a great social network based on one common denominator. We are all Redskins fans. There were members already here that I was friends with and I have made a few new ones along the way. I have come to love this place and log on everyday now.

Wow MB!! I didn't think your approval ratings around here could have gotten any better but you just blasted that mother thru the roof! There is no need to apologize!--imho-- You have a vision and/or yearning for what you'd like RH to be and a willingness to help it along and that is an admirable quality in my book. Some would rather stand by and pass judgment and not accept responsibility as a community member to improve those things that are of concern--it really does take a village! You have been one of those prominent members here that has helped to establish and strengthen RH and I am just blown away by your willingness to thoughtfully and actively consider the opinions expressed here and then share your conclusions and paradigm shifty-ness with us. What a wonderful example you have set for us all! I will endeavor to be as considerate in my postings/dealings with my RH brothers and sisters. Thank you for that! ***bursts into song... We are the world We are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So let's start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives It's true we'll make a better day Just you and me

No need to apologize MB. At least not to me. I'm all good in the hood and everything is Kool and the Gang as far as I'm concerned. I'm like Rodney King. "Cant we all just get along". And trust me..... it would take a lot for me to start throwing bans out around here.

. I guess in fairness to them it's got to be an enormous task moderating a community that big, but well, ya gotta be where you feel good.
It really isn't though. The only time it might get overwhelming would be right after a game or something and usually the board is breaking and you're just going to miss everything that happens anyways. I'm a moderator on forums that have on average 100, 500, and 1500-2500 members on at any given time and let me tell you, shooting a quick PM is the best way to handle most things, done and over.
